I must confess I stopped reading after 18 pages. The writing is frequently ungrammatical: "The Second Marine Division ... were" for example. And no that's not the use of the British plural form. On page 16 Wrinn writes about "bed roles." Elsewhere he describes a bridge braced "within amphibian tractor," and says a Marine advance was "ridden" with casualties. But for anyone who has read about Guadalcanal before, the most glaring error leaps out on page 11 when Wrinn states that the American assault on the island was led by "Richard" Turner. It in fact was led by RICHMOND Kelly Turner, but there's no indication that Wrinn or his copy editor knows that. Basically it's what you'd expect from a lazy junior high school student. Don't waist - oops! - waste your time or your money.
